Community Development

Jarlmadangah community has put a lot of work into extensive development of the community infrastructure. This led to a 'Clean and Healthy Communities Award' in 1999.

Apart from the buildings which house the schools, clinic, store, offices, auto workshop and the women's centre, there is quality housing for everybody, and also the capacity to accomodate tourists and visitors. New fencing can be seen around the residential areas, and many buildings are being expanded or improved, and all projects are based on the labour of the community.

A consistent clean water supply, dust abatement programs, aged care housing, as well as excellent accomodation for the general population and visitors are all indicative of thoughtful planning and well-organised implementation of the Community Plan.
