Leela Watson maintains the Community Telecentre. Just behind the office and the store is a small building purpose-built for a small telecentre with eight computers. Time moves slowly in Jarlmadangah but computers go out of date very quickly and the hot wet season and the (also hot) dry season create problems with sensitive electronic equipment. The computers are due for an upgrade after five years of service, but the internet connection is quite good. Leela has studied in Derby to acquire some useful knowledge which she is putting to use and which will be beneficial for the children as they get a modern education side by side with a traditional one.
